The Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia) is the major finance industry professional association for Australia and New Zealand with over 20,000 members worldwide. The Melbourne Centre for Financial Studies is a research centre formed by a consortium of Melbourne, Monash and RMITUniversities in association with Finsia and Victorian Government and industry support.

As an interface between academics and professionals in the banking and financial services industry, the conference format involves addresses from keynote speakers and senior finance industry practitioners each morning and concurrent sessions of peer reviewed research papers each afternoon.
